Cecilia specializes in international education management, program design and assessment, curriculum development, and cross-cultural training.

She is currently finishing her graduate degree at Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.  Cecilia’s experiences throughout her studies and professional career have all led her to a commitment to promote global competence.

As an undergraduate student in Copenhagen, Denmark, she studied abroad at American University in Washington D.C., and wrote her thesis on the development of intercultural competence through cross-cultural experiences in primary schools. This research sparked an interest in supporting teachers to incorporate global competence activities into their curriculum.

Further Cecilia’s background in education has given her significant insight into education practices around the world. She has taught at international and public schools in England, the Philippines, Costa Rica and most recently at an International Baccalaureate (IB) school in Denmark. Additionally, she managed and led Danish students during immersion experiences throughout Latin America, supporting them as they learned to adapt to and navigate various cultural settings.

Outside of the classroom, Cecilia loves spending time in nature, is passionate about the ocean, and is particularly fascinated by sharks.

Also fascinated by languages and their cultural aspects she speaks Danish, Swedish, English, and Spanish.
